In the first leg of the UEFA Cup semi-final, Marseille and Atalanta engaged in a fierce battle.

The match began with both teams showing a strong desire to attack. In the 12th minute of the first half, Atlanta's Scaramacca caught a hole in Marseille's defense. He alertly took advantage of an offside mistake by an opponent's defender, broke into the penalty area and fired a shot without hesitation, successfully putting the ball in the net and giving Atlanta a fantastic start to the game.

Marseille didn't get discouraged after falling behind, they quickly made tactical adjustments to enhance the control of the midfield and pressurization in front of the field. In the 20th minute, Marseille equalized the score through a corner kick with Kondogbia and Mbemba's shot, which hit the post and broke the goal.

The shot hit the frame of the goal and bounced into the net, helping Marseille to balance the score quickly. The rest of the match saw the offense and defense of both teams picking up the pace significantly, and the situation on the field became more and more intense. Marseille's sharpshooter, Aubameyang, was a constant threat, testing the Atalanta defense on several occasions with his attempts on goal. Although Aubameyang's shot was blocked, he tried again on the counterattack, but the ball went wide.

In the second half, Marseille continued to ramp up their offense as Aubameyang and teammate Kondogbia attempted long range shots, but both failed to hit the target. In one attack, Sarr's poke in front of the penalty area broke the net but the goal was disallowed due to offside.

In the end, the two sides ended 1-1 in a close matchup that was evenly split.
