May 6 (Bloomberg) -- According to Malaysian media reports, the Malaysian national team
Player Faisal Halim suffered an acid attack at a shopping center in Peshawar on Sunday.
Just a few days ago, his teammate Akia Rashid suffered cuts and bruises in a robbery in Kuala Terengganu last week.
A source close to Faisal Halim confirmed the incident. He stated, "Yes, it just happened. We are not sure where exactly, but we know he was attacked by some people who threw acid on him. We are preparing to go forward to check on him."
As for the reason behind the attack, it has not yet been determined.
Faisal Halim had scored a tip-in against South Korea in Malaysia in the group stage of the Asian Cup earlier this year.
