Manchester United announced on Saturday (20) that they have successfully recruited Manchester City's director of soccer, David Bellada, to be their CEO. However, there is still no final decision on Bellada's appointment, and it has been reported that City may ask him to enter a "frozen period", and he may be able to formally take up his post before the 24/25 football season. It is worth noting that Bellada is still the key witness in City's alleged financial irregularities lawsuit, and is still representing City at the hearing this season.
In a statement, Manchester United said that Berarda's appointment has yet to be finalized, and that he will continue to be handled by interim CEO Shi Chiu-wu. According to the Daily Mirror, Berarda's resignation from City will be followed by a "freeze" period, during which he will not be allowed to work for other clubs, and may not be able to take over as United's CEO until the end of the current season.
