Lawrence Award
It's a World Sports Award. Created in 2000 by two multinational companies, Dellums and Richemont, it is one of the most influential awards in the world of sports, and is selected and awarded each year with the support of Mercedes-Benz and IWC. The Latin word for laurel is laurel, which symbolizes victory, and the annual Laureus Awards are a great reward for sportsmen and women.
The Laureus Awards are so rigorous that their fairness and impartiality have never been questioned. Lawrence's selection method is first from more than 70 countries and regions around the world, more than 2,000 senior media people to nominate the most outstanding performance of the year, and then by the 52 members of the Laureus Sports Academy to vote for the final winners of the male and female athletes. It is worth mentioning that the Laureus Sports Academy is made up of the world's best and brightest retired athletes in all sports, each with a distinguished career history.
At present, the Lawrence Awards mainly include: Lawrence Annual Best Male Athlete Award, Lawrence Annual Best Female Athlete Award, Lawrence Annual Best Sports Team Award, Lawrence Annual Best Newcomer Award, Lawrence Annual Best Comeback Athlete Award, Lawrence Annual Best Alternative Athlete Award and Lawrence Annual Best Disabled Athlete Award, Lawrence Lifetime Achievement Award and Public Welfare Sports Fund Award. Of course, each award is a hard-earned process, to be good enough to win the recognition of the main committee at the same time, but also lucky enough to win.
Each award at the Laureus Awards is able to receive a statue of Laureus commissioned by Cartier with the main board, which is also a symbol of honor. Tennis has long been a regular visitor to the Laureus Awards, with famous players such as Federer at the time, while superstars in the NBA world such as James and Curry have also won the award.
