Ewarton and Nottingham Forest, who have been charged with financial irregularities by the Premier League, both progressed to the EFL Cup replay in the early hours of Thursday morning (18th), with Ewarton beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at home and Forest knocking out Blackpool 3-2 in extra time.
Ewarton came out strong and managed to take control of the game, with Antoine Gomes scoring a penalty in the 42nd minute to break the deadlock. Crystal Palace lost the ball and started a comeback, but Ewarton's young keeper Vicente Vizcaina did a great job to secure a 1-0 win, and they'll face Luton in the next round.
EWT's team leader Dyche said after the game: "The news (prosecution) in these few days is sad, all EWT people feel bad, but this team of players has shown a strong side all season, even if the performance is not good, the defense is still full of fighting spirit, which is the most important point.
