According to a new report from Daily Sport, FC Barcelona, while still not completely ruling out the possibility of signing Portuguese international Cancelo, the deal is currently facing a series of insurmountable obstacles.

Firstly, financial issues have been the biggest stumbling block to the deal. Cancelo is currently enjoying an annual salary of 14 million euros at Manchester City FC, a figure that is undoubtedly a huge burden for Barcelona, who are already strapped for payroll space. What's even trickier is that Cancelo himself is not willing to lower his salary to facilitate the transfer as he did last season, while City are also unwilling to take on any part of his salary, which has brought both clubs to a stalemate on the issue of salary sharing.

Aside from the monetary pressure, Barcelona's sporting department also has some misgivings about re-signing Cancelo. Although Cancelo is capable of playing on both sides of the field and is the type of player Barcelona desperately needs at the moment, his performances in crucial moments last season did not convince everyone. This uncertainty makes Barcelona more cautious in deciding whether to go ahead with the deal.

In addition, Cancelo's image within the dressing room has cast a shadow over his transfer prospects. Some of Cancelo's off-field behavior has reportedly caused resentment among the team's key players, and his attitude problems when not starting have failed to gain acceptance from the team's core. At the same time, his lack of rapport with the younger players has further increased the internal resistance Barcelona face in signing him.

To complicate matters, Cancelo's close friend Felix is also leaving La Liga, which will undoubtedly have an impact on Cancelo's mental state. In such a moment full of variables, whether Barcelona is willing to take the risk of signing a player who may affect the atmosphere of the team due to personal problems becomes a question worth pondering.
