According to the latest report from renowned journalist Ertan Suzgun, Chelsea's 19-year-old winger Angelo Borges has agreed a transfer deal with Turkish giants Besiktas on a personal level. The news opens a new chapter in Angelo's career and has sparked interest in the transfer market between the Premier League and the Turkish Super League.
Angelo moved to Chelsea from Brazilian side Santos last summer for a fee of £13 million and signed a six-year contract until 2029. However, after joining Chelsea, he was not able to immediately establish himself at Stamford Bridge, and was instead loaned out to FC Strasbourg, which is also part of the BlueCo consortium, to work out. In his one season at Strasbourg, Angelo made 25 appearances and contributed four assists, showing some potential and strength.
Nonetheless, with the constant tweaks and changes in Chelsea's squad, it is unlikely that Angelo will be given the chance to play consistently under Maresca in the new season. As a result, Chelsea FC have decided to put him on the sale list in the hope of making room for players who have more room to play this season.
Transfer talks between Chelsea and Besiktas are still ongoing. Although Angelo has already reached a personal agreement with Besiktas, further negotiations between the two clubs on matters such as transfer fees and contract details are still needed. Chelsea, for their part, are keen to finalize the deal as soon as possible in order to make room for the team's plans for the new season.
For Angelo, joining Besiktas will be a new start for his career. The competitive environment of the Turkish league may provide him with more playing opportunities and room for training, helping him grow into a good winger faster. At the same time, he will also have the opportunity to show his talent and strength on a higher stage, laying a solid foundation for his future career.
