Former England international Michael Owen, in a recent interview, expressed his displeasure with Manchester United manager Eric Ten Hagar's procrastination in dealing with the Jadon Sancho issue and contrasted how it could have been a very different outcome if the matter had been handled by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Owen noted, "Under Sir Alex Ferguson, the Sancho situation would have been dealt with swiftly and decisively. Either Sancho would have been asked to leave the team quickly or both sides would have sat down to clarify the issue and find a solution. But the reality is that under Ten Hagar the issue has dragged on for a year."

He further criticized, "Timely action in the face of a problem often leads to the right result. This time, however, United and Ten Hagar chose to delay until the problem became too difficult to ignore and action had to be taken. Considering the amount of transfer fees and wages United have invested in Sancho, such a delay is undoubtedly disappointing."

Owen also expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision-making at the top of United: "If my kids were unhappy, I would sit down and talk to them immediately to find out what the problem is. But United have taken such a passive approach to a player who has cost tens of millions of pounds and has so much talent. The fact that they had to send Sancho out on loan at a time when the team desperately needed to get back on track was clearly not what the fans wanted to see."

Finally, Owen expressed his concern about the future of Manchester United: as a Manchester United fan, it is undoubtedly frustrating to see such a situation. But the good thing is, now that sanity has finally prevailed, United and Ten Hag are beginning to face up to the problem and seek a solution. We can only wait and see what the future holds.
