Won at the 1986 World Cup
Golden Globe Award
The trophy will be auctioned off on June 6 in France. It is the first Ballon d'Or trophy to be auctioned, and although the value is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to fetch millions of dollars. Diego Maradona led Argentina to the 1986 World Cup title, scoring two goals against England in the quarterfinals that have become all-time classics, one of which was dubbed the "Hand of God" and the other after passing five opponents in a row. The Ballon d'Or trophy was reportedly stolen but has now reappeared and been authenticated.
