Javier Asensi, the chief commercial officer of Miami International FC, revealed that the team's budget has experienced a doubling since Messi joined, expanding from $60 million to between $125 million and $130 million, while this year's turnover is projected to be more than $200 million, according to Efe news agency.
Part of this economic growth is due to a series of partnership agreements that Miami International Club has signed with major international companies, the most recent of which was a contract with Visa, an international credit card brand.
Javier Asensi said, "We are very pleased with these sponsorships, which are not just an increase in quantity, but an increase in quality. We are always looking for partners who can take us to the next level, and Royal Caribbean and JP Morgan Chase are two of them."
"The arrival of Lionel Messi has taken the club to new heights, but it has also meant a different demand for partners. I'm happy with where the club is and what's going on, the only thing we have to do is keep improving."
"Our budget has increased from $60 million to $125 or $130 million, and this year's turnover is expected to be $200 million or more, which is a huge number for us."
Javier Asensi also mentioned that Miami International FC makes more money than any other professional club in the preseason tourney, which shows the financial benefits that Messi's addition has brought to the club.
He emphasized the appeal of Messi, saying that there are a lot of celebrities who want to see him play and that the demand is incredibly high. But he also said that the club has a very good team of professionals who are able to handle these matters in an organized manner.
Regarding the construction of the new stadium in 2025, Javier Asensi said it is one of the most exciting projects in the sports industry and is expected to be the largest open park in the entire region, the City of Miami.
