Manchester United will face Chelsea at home in the Premier League in the early hours of Thursday (7), and the Red Devils have officially announced a ban on media outlets that have been involved in the recent "smearing" of team leader Tannhäuser from attending the pre-match press conference, and it has been reported that the "blacklist" includes Sky Sports, the Manchester Evening News, the Mirror, and ESPN.

United issued a statement criticizing a number of British media outlets for publishing factually incorrect information without the Club's confirmation: "The Club is taking action against a number of media outlets not because they are reporting news we don't like, but because the media outlets in question have not contacted us or given us the opportunity to understand what is going on and respond to the situation, and the Club has to safeguard important principles and would like to re-direct its co-operation".
