According to the latest report from the UK's Mail, Premier League giants Manchester United are in advanced transfer talks with Greek rivals Panathinaikos, planning to sell their young striker Peristeri for £8.5 million. However, the deal is still in limbo as several clubs have shown strong interest in the 22-year-old starlet, making the transfer market extremely competitive.
Pellistri has yet to secure his place as a starter in the team since joining United from Uruguayan powerhouse Penarol in 2020, but his performances during his loan spell have been eye-catching. In the second half of last season, he was loaned out to La Liga side Granada, and had previously been loaned out twice to Alaves for workouts. He has also made 25 appearances in the United first team, showing his talent and potential.
However, Pellistri has not been seen as a key player in new boss Ten Hagar's tactical system. He was given the chance to come on as a substitute against Manchester City in the Community Shield, but failed to get a start in the Premier League opener against Fulham, which undoubtedly increased the likelihood of his departure.
Meanwhile, another piece of news in the transfer market has attracted a lot of attention. La Liga club Las Palmas have made a formal offer to Fulham to bring in the team's striker Carlos Vinicius. The 29-year-old Brazilian striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Galatasaray in Turkey, during which time he excelled. In 48 appearances for Fulham, he scored eight goals, showing a decent attacking ability. It is worth noting that apart from Las Palmas, Brazilian giants Corinthians have also shown a keen interest in Carlos Vinicius.
