Firanielli, who was fired by Beckham in June and left InterMiami, has been offered a contract by Portland Lumberjacks, another USL team, to be the head coach in the new season.
The 46-year-old Phillips hung up his boots at Ewarton in 2013 and began his coaching career in 2015, starting as a caretaker leader at Shafter City and coaching England's women's soccer team, International Miami and the Canadian national team as an assistant coach.
