The J-League Cup final between Fukuoka Hornets and Urawa Red Diamonds was held on Saturday (4). The Hornets won 2-1 with a two-goal lead in the first half and won the Cup, the first top-flight title in the 41 years of the team's existence.
Fukuoka Hornets took the lead in the first five minutes of the game, when Kuan-Yuki Mae received a cross from the right side of the road from Kazuya Konno and hit a shot in front of the goal to make it 1-0. They extended their lead in the first half of stoppage time with an assist from Kazuya Konno and a cross from the left side of the road from which Miyagi Oshiki received a shot in front of the goal to take a 2-0 lead at halftime.
