Zheng Zhi is a famous Chinese soccer player who played mainly in the midfield position during his playing days and currently serves as the team's head coach. He joined the Liaoning youth team in 1996 and five years later joined the Shenzhen Pingan team of the then First Division. Three years later, the player won the first league title of his life with Shenzhen Jianlibao.
In 2005, Zheng Zhi joined Shandong Luneng Taishan FC and won the domestic league and the FA Cup with the club a year later. After winning the domestic league and the F.A.C. Cup with the club a year later, Zheng Zhi gained attention from foreign teams and moved to Charlton FC of the English Premier League the following year, and two years later signed with Celtic of the Scottish Premier League.
