Hosts China Men's Asian Football Team took the lead against Qatar in the Round of 16 with a goal by striker Tao Qianglong in the first three minutes of the match, and held on until the end of the match to beat their opponents 1:0 and advance to the next round of the tournament. The 22-year-old player, who currently plays for Wuhan Sanzhen in the Chinese Super League, has scored three goals in this year's Asian Games, and he and midfielder Dai Weijun are the key contributors to China's advancement this year.

South Korea beat Kyrgyz 5-1 in their last match to advance to the Champions League, with Barcelona's Baek Seung-ho scoring again, and Stuttgart's striker Jeong Yo-young also scoring twice, with these two players doing most of the scoring in this year's tournament.
