China's men's soccer team has entered the 2024 Asian Cup, which was originally scheduled to take place in China from June 16 to July 16, 2023, with the Chinese team participating as hosts, however, due to certain influences, China gave up hosting the Asian Cup, and Qatar eventually took over as hosts. The remaining 11 spots in the Asian Cup are filled by the teams ranked 14th to 35th in the Top 40, playing against Indonesia and Cambodia, who qualified for the preliminaries through a play-off. 24 teams are divided into six groups, with the first place finishers in each group advancing, and the five best-performing groups finishing 2nd, qualifying for the main round of the Asian Cup. They are Jordan, Palestine, Uzbekistan, India, Bahrain, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong Football, Malaysia and Kyrgyzstan.
