There are League of Legends, King's Honor Asian Games Edition, Peace Elite Asian Games Edition, FIFA Online 4, Hearthstone Legends, Street Fighter 5, Dream of Three Kingdoms 2, and DOTA2. After the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta set eSports as a performance sport for the first time, the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou will set eSports, which is popular among young people, as an official competition sport for the first time. At the Hangzhou Asian Games, the medals won by participating delegations in eSports will be included in the big category of Intelligence Program.
In the case of the 2018 Asian Games, which set up six subsections of StarCraft 2, Hearthstone Legend, Royal War, League of Legends, Live Soccer and Glory of Kings International Edition, the Hangzhou Asian Games identified the eight subsections mentioned above as the official competition items after a careful selection process. These 8 games are both end-game and handheld games, and all of them have a certain number of player groups and relatively large popularity.
With its unique shape, China Hangzhou Gaming Center has become one of the most popular venues in the Hangzhou Asian Games. When viewed from the air, the Hangzhou Gaming Center looks like an intergalactic battleship with sci-fi colors, with a total floor area of 80,000 square meters. Guided by the design concept of "interstellar vortex", three main walkways were chosen as the backbone of the center and rotate around the core of the building to form the main body of the building, making it look like a star in a nebula.
As the venue for eSports events at the Hangzhou Asian Games, the 5,000-seat Competition Hall is located in the center of the venue, with several workstations set up on the basement level to accommodate referees, coaches and other event participants. In addition to hosting eSports events, the China Hangzhou eSports Center can also accommodate cultural performances and expositions.
