Liverpool announced a contract extension for their back-up left-hander on Monday (26) after beating Westham, with reports suggesting the two sides have signed a four-year deal until 2027.

The 27-year-old Semakas, who joined Liverpool in 2020, has not scored in 63 matches in four seasons and has contributed 12 assists, and is the back-up to Andrew Robertson. However, it is reported that he is an old friend of ace striker Mohammad Sanaa, who has been consulted on the extension of his contract this time.

Sammy Kass doesn't mind being a back-up and seems to be enjoying the situation, saying, "I'm happy to be able to extend my contract. The sacrifices I've made and the hard work I've put in have paid off and I'm energized, and I want to be a part of a team that has so much to achieve.
