Soccer fans across Germany's major cities now have the chance to see the Henri Delaunay Cup, a symbol of European soccer's glory, up close and personal as the iconic trophy will be on display in Germany ahead of the start of UEFA EURO 2024. With just seven weeks left in the countdown, UEFA Euro revelry has kicked off across Germany.
Since March 22 in Stuttgart.
After the launch ceremony in Frankfurt, Cologne and Düsseldorf, the Trophy Tour has visited the cities of Frankfurt, Cologne and Düsseldorf, allowing fans in the western region to get up close and personal with the holy grail of football. In Frankfurt, the trophy was not only on display at the MyZeil shopping center in the heart of the city, but also attracted the presence of tournament ambassadors and former local stars, providing fans with an unforgettable autograph and interactive experience.
The trophy tour next arrived in Cologne, where Tournament Director Philipp Lahm personally accompanied the trophy on a series of photo shoots and had a friendly chat with fans at the German Sports and Olympic Museum. In Düsseldorf, Lahm visited the city's iconic locations with local sports personalities and invited soccer clubs to join in the celebrations.
With Dortmund as its next stop, the trophy was displayed at a fun-filled, family-friendly event at Friedenplatz and at landmarks such as the Dortmund Stadion, which will be hosting important matches at Euro 2024. Gelsenkirchen's brief trophy display also attracted many fans.
Now, the Henri Delaunay Cup is about to arrive in the capital city of Berlin and continue on to the cities of Leipzig, Hamburg and Munich, concluding its tour on May 14th, when it will warm up for the upcoming tournament. Through its ESG strategy, Euro 2024 is committed to being a model for sustainability in sport and to promoting sustainable development in Germany and beyond.
The trophy tour across Germany not only provided a festive celebration for fans, but also fostered connections with local organizations, supported the development of grassroots soccer, and added even more anticipation and luster to the upcoming UEFA Europa League.
