Milos Raonic was supposed to be in the

Hong Kong Open

on to start his 2024 campaign, but he recently gave up.

This is one of the tournaments added to the ATP 250 this year and Milos Raonic wants to play there. He applied for a wild card to play in the tournament because he didn't want to burn his protected ranking in the ATP 250, which makes perfect sense.

Unfortunately, Raonic was not awarded a wild card, so he decided not to play in Hong Kong. His plan was actually to head straight to Melbourne, where he would compete in the Kooyong Classic exhibition. He recently talked about it on the Canadian Race Point Podcast.

Kooyong shows usually have some pretty big names so Raonic will get a good warm up there. One thing in his favor is that he'll be able to elevate it really quickly.

He was never really a player who needed weeks to prepare, but one or two games was enough.

He last represented Canada in the Davis

Cup, looks pretty good, so a couple more weeks of practice should help him. It's all in the body for him. If he's healthy, he should have something to say.
