Australian tennis players Ajla Tomljanovic and Tanasi Kokkinakis will compete this summer at the Adelaide International, a combined WTA 500 and ATP 250 tournament that will be held Jan. 8-13, 2024, at The Drive.

Kokkinakis has excelled at his hometown tournament, where he is currently ranked 68th in the world, winning his first ATP title in 2022 and reaching the semifinals in 2023.

"Having the opportunity to play world class tennis in front of my family, friends and fans in my hometown of Adelaide is an incredible experience for me." Kokkinakis said at the Playford City Tennis International this week.

"The home fans cheering me on at center court gave me extra motivation and drive to move forward. I still have a lot of preparation to do between now and next January, but I'm excited to be back at the Adelaide International and be part of the summer of tennis.

Confirmed starters include three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist Tomljanovic, former world No. 1 Angelique Kerber, who is returning from maternity leave, and top-20 Italian star Lorenzo Musetti. They will compete in the Adelaide International.

"To be able to confirm so early that these four players will be playing on court is a strong sign of support from the players for the Adelaide International and a strong signal and commitment to the rich experience they will have in Adelaide. We encourage all tennis fans to purchase their tickets early," said Debbie Sterrey, CEO of Tennis SA and General Manager of the Adelaide International.

"We are very thankful and appreciative of the support of the state government, who not only supports

, also supports our recent $48 million Center Court redevelopment project. This center court will be presented to the world as an elite, international tennis venue."

South Australian Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said she was delighted with the return of the world-class Adelaide International as a week-long competition.

"We know the players love coming to Adelaide and the fans love the atmosphere and excitement of the tournament and the experience of providing more than just tennis." Bettison added.

"The Drive offers live music, entertainment, bars, food trucks and a new premium corporate experience, as well as kids' areas and theme days. This means there is something for everyone, from tennis fans to casual fans and avid attendees at a variety of events."
