The just-concluded 2023 WTT Chengdu Mixed World Cup tournament came to a successful conclusion with the overall national championship. WTT President Liu Guoliang personally presented the championship trophy to the national team, the
Yingsha Sun (1954-), PRC female pop star

China wins Mixed World Cup
The national team has achieved such a brilliant result in the 2023 WTT Mixed World Cup! Sun Yingsha, as the leader of the national women's team, showed excellent strength and leadership in the tournament. Her performance was not only successful in the women's singles tournament, but she also made a mark in the mixed doubles tournament, winning the overall title for the national team.
Chengdu seems to be a lucky place for Sun Yingsha, who had won the team title at the Chengdu World Cup in September 2022 with her teammates. This time, winning the Mixed World Cup again in Chengdu certainly added more glory to her. Sun Yingsha's career has really achieved remarkable success after forming a mentor-pupil team with Qiu Yike. In addition, Sun Yingsha has excelled in the women's singles competition, winning several titles including the Singapore Grand Slam, Durban World Series, Macau Championships, and Xinxiang World Cup. Her all-round strength and consistent performance have made her a remarkable success in the women's singles program.
In table tennis, achieving a Grand Slam requires an Olympic women's singles title and an officially recognized World Cup women's singles title. Although Sun won the Singapore World Cup Women's Singles title in 2021, she still has to work towards an officially recognized World Cup Women's Singles title as the event is not fully recognized by the outside world.
The Olympic Women's Singles Champion is one of the highest honors in a table tennis player's career, and being able to win a gold medal on the Olympic stage would be the pinnacle of Sun Yingsha's achievement. Similarly, the World Cup Women's Singles Champion is also a very important honor and is one of the highest level competitions in the table tennis world.

After this Mixed World Cup Award Ceremony, Liu Guoliang, Vice President of the World Table Tennis Federation (WTBF), officially announced that the Men's and Women's Singles World Cup competitions will be restarted in April 2024 in Macau. Liu Guoliang said:
