Hong Kong-born Dai Weijun, who plays as a midfielder, made his debut for the Chinese national team in the Qatar World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Japan, and has made seven appearances so far. Shanghai Shenhua said that Dai's creativity as a technical midfielder can bring more changes in the attack, and praised him for his excellent penalty kicking ability, which will effectively improve the team's attacking means and quality in the midfield.
