Chinese Super League (CSL) club Shanghai Shenhua announced on Wednesday (28) that it has signed free agent Dai Weijun, who will wear the No. 9 jersey, after a friendly negotiation with the player himself.

Hong Kong-born Dai Weijun, who plays as a midfielder, made his debut for the Chinese national team in the Qatar World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Japan, and has made seven appearances so far. Shanghai Shenhua said that Dai's creativity as a technical midfielder can bring more changes in the attack, and praised him for his excellent penalty kicking ability, which will effectively improve the team's attacking means and quality in the midfield. As for Dai Wei Joon, he said on social media that he is very grateful for the team's trust and support, and will work hard with his teammates to do their best in every game.
