Chelsea's American owner, Pauli, has been disrupting the team's operations since he took over, but Pauli is planning to continue expanding his soccer empire by announcing the official acquisition of Ligue 1 club Strasbourg on Thursday (22nd). However, Strasbourg's fans are very unhappy with the change of hands, and a large number of fans went to the club's headquarters to protest with banners against Pauli's ownership.

After Strasbourg's relegation success in Ligue 1 last season, the club issued a statement on Thursday, confirming that president Marc Kiner has accepted the takeover by Pauli. According to British newspaper The Guardian, a consortium led by Pauli has bought nearly 100% of Strasbourg's shares for 65 million pounds (about HK$650 million), and Marc Kiner will continue to remain in the post of the president. However, after the news was announced, a large number of fans went to the head office to protest and put up banners saying "Pauli is not welcome".
