Jamez Rodríguez began his professional soccer career with Colombian lower division side Envigado in 2006 and joined Argentine first division club Atletico Banfield in 2008.
Rodríguez joined Porto on July 6, 2010 for €5.1 million, signing a four-year contract with a €30 million liquidated damages.On June 13, 2011, Rodríguez and Porto signed a new five-year contract with an increased liquidated damages of €45 million.
On May 24, 2013, Rodríguez moved to Monaco, who had just returned to Ligue 1, for a fee of £60 million. The transfer fee totaled £60 million and Rodriguez was valued at £38.5 million on a five-year deal until the summer of 2018.
