Juventus winger Federico Chiesa (Little Chiesa) has officially joined English Premier League giants Liverpool and will wear the No. 14 jersey symbolizing glory in the Red Army. In his first official interview since joining the club, Chiesa expressed his excitement about joining Liverpool and his hopes for the future.
Junior Chiesa admits that when he received the offer from Liverpool, he made his decision with little hesitation. "I'm very happy to be a member of Liverpool," he said, "When Richard Hughes (note: this may refer to a senior member of the Liverpool club or an agent, the exact person needs to be confirmed according to the actual situation) and the coach called me separately and asked me if I would like to join Liverpool, I immediately said yes! I said yes. I understand Liverpool's long history and its place in the hearts of its fans, which makes me feel incredibly honored."
For the Premier League, Chiesa Jr. is equally excited. "The Premier League is the best league in the world and playing for Liverpool and playing here is a dream come true for me." He continued, "I'm looking forward to playing with the best players in the world and constantly improving."
Talking about his family's support for his new decision, Chiesa Jr. couldn't hide his happiness. "My family is very happy," he shared, "When I mentioned Liverpool, my wife immediately expressed her willingness to travel with me. This is a great opportunity for our family and we are all enjoying it."
Speaking about his initial impressions of Liverpool, Chiesa Jr. singled out the Anfield stadium and the iconic team anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. "The moment I arrived in Liverpool by plane and saw the Anfield stadium, I just couldn't put into words how I felt." He exclaimed, "I imagined myself playing there and hearing the fans cheering and singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone', it was a truly wonderful feeling. I'm sure I'll get shivers down my spine when the fans sing that song."
Chiesa Jr. showed plenty of confidence and humility regarding the competition within the team. "Liverpool is a big club, a top club, and there are a lot of good players here like Salah, Luis Diaz, Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Nunez." He said, "I know what they are capable of, but I also believe in my own abilities. I will do my best to contribute and help the team win more trophies."
