According to a new report from Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona (Barcelona) have taken a more direct approach in their pursuit of Liverpool midfield starlet Bajčetić - they have called the player directly to try and convince him to join them. This move has certainly intensified the transfer battle surrounding Bajčetić, especially considering that there are several other La Liga clubs as well as Red Bull Salzburg eyeing him up.
Previously, renowned journalist Romano had already reported that Barcelona had made a loan offer to Liverpool for Bajčetić, and made it clear that the offer did not include a buyout clause. However, with further revelations from Mundo Deportivo, we can see that Barcelona are so determined to sign Bajčetić that they have even gone as far as to bypass the club level and make direct contact with the player.
Bajčetić's first-team performances at Liverpool have been somewhat hampered by injuries, but the potential and talent he has shown is still coveted by many clubs. Red Bull Salzburg, in particular, have been heavily pursuing Bajčetić even before Barcelona stepped in, and loan negotiations are said to have gone well. However, Barcelona's intervention has certainly made the battle even more complicated and intense.
It is also worth noting that the importance that the Spanish Football Federation places on Bajčetić is evident. They have created a special program for the young player aimed at ensuring that he continues to play for the Spanish national team, rather than responding to a call-up from Serbia. This initiative has undoubtedly further enhanced Bajčetić's status and influence in Spanish football.
