United almost signed Rabiot last year, but the deal fell through at the last minute. Recently, there is news that the two sides are back in contact, and Tannhäuser will meet with the other side in the near future. United has no choice but to do so, because of the lack of transfer budget, they can only go to free agents for the time being, and the 28-year-old Rabiot has once again become the target.

Last summer, United had already negotiated with Juventus to sign Rabiot for €17 million, but couldn't meet the insane wage demands of Rabiot's mother and manager and announced at the last minute that they would give up and sign Casimiro instead.

One year on, Rabiot's contract with Juventus expires this summer and he's back to free agency, so according to the rules, he's free to contact other clubs, or even sign a contract, and Man Utd have recently made contact with Rabiot again.
