As Atlanta United and Chicago Fire are not doing too bad lately, and there are some exciting players in their lineups, I expect this match in Atlanta to be very entertaining.
Atlanta United enter this match with only one loss in their last nine matches, and no losses at home. However, they will be hoping to have their attacking centerpiece, Thiago Almeida, back from injury. However, it is reassuring to see that Kiagomakis has the ability to fill the void with 4 goals in his last 5 matches.
The biggest question for Atlanta United is how Wesley Wiesbrough will perform in place of regular goalkeeper Bart Gusin, who is out due to injury. The Chicago Fire's offense has been on fire, scoring 10 goals in their last 5 games, so Westholff has a good chance of being put to the test.
Even though the Chicago Fire have been scoring a lot of goals, I think they have been one of the strangest teams in the USL. While they have only ever lost 1 league game and have often been the better side in the first 60 minutes of multiple games, they seem to turn in better performances when Sutton Shaklee isn't dropping in, and the team has been forced to draw many times when they are ahead of their opponents.
One of the reasons for this is the inexperience of the team, but I think goalkeeper Buddy, who is only 19 years old, and attacking midfielder Bryan Gudelis are two players who have done a great job. They are two of the most promising youngsters in the USL and definitely need to be watched. However, I think the Chicago Fire will fail to win this match once again, and Atlanta United can win this tight matchup.
