The 3-2 win over Brentford, if not for Ryan Neilson's save, I'm sure VAR would have been in the spotlight again.

The 32 shots on goal were the most in a game this season.

The highest record, in addition to the Great Wall of Flesh and Blood, there were 4 incidents of handball in the penalty area in this match, among which VAR intervened 3 times, but all of them were not awarded 12 yards causing great controversy.

In the 33rd minute, McPheehan and Fabio Vela fought for the top of the net, and after failing to hit the ball, their outstretched left arms clearly hit the ball, but the VAR checked it and found it to be fine; in the 73rd minute, Jack Stephens was suspected to have blocked Bucayo Saca's pass with his hand, but both the referee and the VAR didn't react to it; and in the 80th minute, Philip Bearing and Margot Sinanis had two handballs within a short period of time, blocking the shots of Martyn Ordigart and Gabriel Magalhaes, and both were quite obvious, but the VAR ruled it to be fine in both occasions. The most controversial scene was in the 80th minute, when Philip Binning and Markos Sinis blocked Martin Odigat's shot and Gabriele Magalhaes' header respectively.

Two TV commentators, Schuria and Keevan, both questioned the VAR's decision, Schuria said:

It's definitely possible to have 12 yards, if it was given early last season. Kieran Keevan said: "The threshold for 12 yards is very high this season, Ponemouth is very lucky, but I think we should give 12 yards for the handball.

In the match against Binford last month, the team was forced to draw because the VAR referee did not remember to draw the offside line, and the referee in charge of the match, Mr. Lee Mee Sze, was sacked afterwards.
