Dutch club Eindhoven have decided to waive their buyout clause for Barcelona's De Stijn, according to Mundo Deportivo. Durst was on loan at Eindhoven this season, but was unfortunate enough to suffer a match injury that required him to recuperate for up to nine months. Despite this, Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz has said that they still hope to keep the youngster. Dexter's contract with Barcelona is set to expire in the summer of 2025. This season, he showed excellent performances in 37 appearances for Eindhoven, scoring two goals and making seven assists. However, unfortunately, he underwent a surgery not long ago and will need to undergo rehabilitation for the next nine months.
Due to this reason, Eindhoven decided not to exercise his buyout clause. Peter Bosz said in an interview, "We won't exercise Dexter's buyout clause, but that doesn't mean we've given up on the possibility of keeping him. We are still very interested in him and want him to stay with the team." Nonetheless, the possibility of Dexter making a comeback in early 2025 still exists. Dexter's talent and potential are well known and his performances have caught the attention of the team's head coach. However, due to the injury, Eindhoven decided not to exercise the buyout clause at this time, opting instead to wait for him to recover before making a decision. Durst's injury is undoubtedly a huge blow to the team, but Eindhoven still has faith in him.
