Following Getafe's 0-0 draw at home against Real Sociedad, Getafe manager Bordallas attended a press conference to give a full and in-depth summary of the game.
Firstly, Bordalas acknowledged the game itself, admitting that both teams gave their all, but Getafe were slightly lacking in creating chances and taking them. "We tried to play in Real Sociedad's half, but unfortunately we weren't able to create too many threatening attacking chances, while also lacking some accuracy in taking our chances." Nonetheless, he still recognized the efforts of his players and congratulated them for securing a point for his team. "You can't question the effort of the players, they gave it everything they had and I can without a doubt only congratulate them on getting a point for the team."
In response to rival Real Sociedad manager Alguacil's praise for Getafe's team, Bordalas expressed his gratitude and emphasized the need for the team to continue working hard to make a difference. "I am also satisfied with the team's performance, the players did their best. But we have to realize that a draw is not the ultimate goal we are looking for, all we have to do now is to make a difference and try to get a win as soon as possible in the next games."
Speaking on the performance of new signing Yıldırım, Bordalas was positive and pointed to his future direction. "We were pleased with Yıldırım's debut and despite the fact that he joined the team not long ago and still lacks some rhythm in the game, he was better on the field. Replacing him because he couldn't run anymore showed his hustle. Yıldırım is a great learner and I'm sure he'll be able to make more progress as time goes on."
On the injury situation, Bordalas revealed that Mayoral is still not fully recovered from his knee injury and therefore did not risk using him. "Mayoral's knee injury is still not healed and I hope that he will be fully fit in the next few weeks so that he can return to the field."
Meanwhile, Bordalas also spoke highly of Uche's performance. "I am very happy with Uche, his motivation on the field was impeccable and his performance was great, he is an important part of our team."
Finally, speaking about the decision to replace Alan Barry late in the game, Bordalas explained his considerations. "As Uche and Yıldırım had taken on a lot of running in the game, they were exhausted by the time they were substituted. In that situation, we needed to make sure the team didn't lose the game and therefore substituted Alan Barry to energize the midfield. It was the right choice based on the situation on the pitch and we have to keep our feet on the ground for every game."
