Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has shared his thoughts on the end of his career in a post-retirement interview and revealed surprising news - he received a congratulatory message from former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

Szczesny finally decided to end his professional soccer career after much deliberation after becoming a free agent. He confessed in an interview that the decision to retire did not come out of the blue, but was a relief and a farewell to a difficult moment in his long career. He said that at the moment of announcing his retirement, his heart was unusually calm, without the slightest hesitation or trembling.

However, to Szczesny's surprise, after announcing his retirement, he received well wishes and condolences from a host of friends, peers, teammates and coaches, including Sergio Ramos, who he never had direct contact with. Szczesny was both surprised and excited by Ramos' news, admitting that he never expected to cross paths with the legendary La Liga defender.

Ramos is also reportedly currently unemployed and, like Szczesny, lives in the Andalusia region. This coincidence makes the connection between the two even more subtle and interesting. Szczesny laughed in the interview and said that he even categorized Ramos's messages as "other users" on social media, which shows the degree of strangeness between the two men.

Despite not crossing paths during his career, Ramos' well wishes certainly made Szczesny feel the warmth and unity of the soccer community. He thanked all those who gave their support and blessings after his retirement and said he will cherish the good memories this career has brought.
