According to a new report from Spanish newspaper Daily Sport, FC Barcelona's sporting director Deco is currently facing a major career decision, and is seriously considering leaving the club he returned to last year to take up a key role. Deco, a former Barcelona player, returned to the team in August last year as sporting director, and the two sides signed a long-term contract until 2026, but today's complicated financial situation and working conditions have made him doubly disappointed.

Reports suggest that Deco is so overwhelmed by the club's current financial woes that he once told a player's agent that he was "the poorest sporting director in Europe". This statement reflects the serious challenges faced by Deco within the club, especially when competing with other big clubs, as Barcelona's financial situation severely limits its ability to attract and renew contracts.

Last summer, Barcelona president Laporta promised Deco that he would fulfill the 1:1 principle required by the financial fairness rules and work to return the club's finances to normal. However, to this day, that promise remains unfulfilled, leading Deco to seriously question the club's future.

In terms of player competition, Deco has also suffered a number of setbacks. Whether it was with Real Madrid for Güler or Tottenham Hotspur for Berival, Barcelona failed to get their way due to a lack of sufficient financial backing. In addition, Deco has had a rough time selling players, with Ronald Araujo's transfer fizzling out due to an injury to the player, and negotiations for the departure of Frankie de Jong reaching a stalemate.

Deco also had to deal with various interventions and unreasonable demands from within the Barcelona board. According to reports, there were some unprofessional voices in the board, such as "don't sign this player because his agent is not close enough to our club" or "try to promote this player from La Masia's youth academy because Laporta and his father are friends! "These demands have certainly made Deco's job more difficult and uncertain.
