May 6 (Xinhua) -- According to Soccer Daily, a serious clash between Dalian Yingbo and Guangzhou in the Central League A has led to additional suspensions for players of both teams. It is reported that Dalian Yingbo player Wang Xuanhong may face a 4 to 5 game suspension, while Guangzhou goalkeeper Huo Shenping may be suspended for an additional 3 games. Clashes between players from both sides had been brewing during the match, with numerous foul play and dissatisfaction with the referee. The most widely circulated video after the match showed Guangzhou goalkeeper Huo Shenping bowing to Dalian Yingbo fans on three separate occasions, while Wang Xuanhong then knocked Huo down, triggering a large-scale clash on the pitch. After the match, the referee showed Huo Shenping a second yellow card and sent him off, while Wang Xuanhong was sent off with a straight red card. There were a total of three red cards in the match, and Dalian Yingbo's foreign aid player Embalo was also red-carded for elbowing his opponent during the match.
According to the Disciplinary Code, Wang Xuanhong's violent behavior could result in a 4 to 5 game suspension, while Embalo's elbow foul could result in a minimum 3 game suspension. Whether or not Huo Shenping is deemed to have "provoked the public" will be determined by the referee's and match supervisor's post-match reports, and whether or not the Disciplinary Committee can find any other video evidence.
