Soccer pundit celebrity Rio Ferdinand has praised Sterling's deal to join Arsenal, saying that it is not only a new chapter in Sterling's career, but also an important step in Arsenal's push for the Premier League title.
Ferdinand first reviewed the whole process of Sterling's transfer to Arsenal, which he described as a "crazy circus show", but ended with Sterling joining Arsenal as he wished. On Chelsea's performance in the transfer process, Ferdinand said: "The situation was not handled very well and Chelsea could have done better. But I'm glad he's gone now."
Turning to Arsenal, Ferdinand couldn't hide his excitement: "It's a great deal for Arsenal. It's an unbelievable deal from their point of view. You get an experienced winger who has won four league titles and he knows how to get the job done. He's played for some of the biggest clubs and knows the path to trophies, which is priceless."
Ferdinand further emphasized Sterling's importance to Arsenal: "I don't know how Chelsea let him go, it's crazy. But it's a 'match made in heaven' for Arsenal and I think it's just a perfect fit. Sterling also has something to prove and I'm sure he'll shine at Arsenal."
Finally, Ferdinand expressed great confidence in Arsenal's prospects this season: "I think Arsenal will win the league this year, and the addition of Sterling will only enhance that thought for me. I think he could be a very important part of the team, helping the Gunners to fight their way through the Premier League and ultimately win the title."
