One of the highlights of Germany's World Cup group stage match against Costa Rica fell to referee Stephanie Fabert, a 38-year-old Frenchwoman who became the first female referee in the history of the World Cup final week.

There are only 3 female referees in this tournament and Stephanie Fabert is one of them. In order to get the chance to enforce in this year's World Cup, Stephanie Fabert has spent a lot of time to equip herself by enforcing in different levels of tournaments, so as to accumulate more working experience, and her perseverance and determination finally paid off, she became the first female referee to enforce in the final week of the World Cup, in the match between Germany and Costa Rica.
