The newspaper reported that the English court has agreed to extend the bail until January next year, meaning that the player can focus on finishing this year's World Cup tournament.
Due to legal reasons, the British media has not been able to disclose the identity of the player involved. The player was accused of raping a woman in Spain this summer, and then another woman also reported that she was raped by the same player in 2021, the British police are still collecting evidence and have not yet made a formal prosecution. Rumor has it that the player involved is Ghana midfielder Thomas Birdie. Ghana is currently in 2nd place in Group H with 3 points from 2 matches, and will face Uruguay in the final round of the group stage.
