Iquita is a retired Colombian soccer player who played as a goalkeeper for the Colombian national soccer team, scoring three goals in 69 games. Although Iquita was a goalkeeper, he sometimes went out of the penalty area with the ball during the game, and even went to the midfield to launch attacks, and he also had long messy hair, which made him known as the "Maniac".

In 2007 Iquita announced his return to the field, joining Guaros de Lara FC, a Colombian First Division club, before moving in January 2008 to Deportivo Rionegro, a Second Division club.
A farewell match was held on January 25, 2010 to conclude his 20-year career.
