In the quarterfinals of the U23 Asian Cup, the South Korean National Olympics played a close match against the Indonesian National Olympics. Although the Korean National Olympics drew 2-2 with their opponents in regular time, they ended up losing on penalties and did not qualify for the Paris Olympics. After the match, Shin Tae-yong, the Korean head coach of the Indonesian National Olympics, was interviewed and he confessed that he felt very painful and tough about eliminating the South Korean team. Shin Tae-Yong said, "I feel very happy and joyful to be able to beat Korea and advance to the next round of the tournament. On the other hand, it was very painful and difficult for me to eliminate Korea. But the game is all about splitting the difference and as the head coach of Indonesia, I have to give my best."

Next, the Indonesian national Olympics will compete with the winner of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia for a ticket to the final. Shin Tae-yong said that no matter who the opponents are, they first need to get back to form as soon as possible. He will watch the matches between the two teams and work out the next schedule based on the matches. The result of this match was undoubtedly a huge disappointment for the Korean national Olympics, who failed to qualify for the Paris Olympics. However, their performance is still commendable. They showed great willpower and teamwork against ten men.
