April 26 - DAZN reporter Orazio Accomando has revealed that AC Milan are ahead of Napoli in the race for striker Jonathan Davie. Accomando tweeted, "A new contact has been made between AC Milan and Davy's agent, who is set to leave Lille this summer.AC Milan see the Canadian striker as Giroud's successor, and are currently ahead of Napoli in the race to take him." Davie, 24, is a Canadian international striker who joined Ligue 1 side Lille in 2020. He has been in fine form this season with 43 appearances and 24 goals in all competitions. AC Milan have been keen on bringing in a young, promising striker.
They see Davy as the ideal successor to Giroud, capable of bringing more attacking threat and scoring opportunities to the team. Although Napoli have also shown interest in Davy, AC Milan are currently leading the battle, and their strength, history and reputation, as well as their dominance of Serie A, could be a key factor in attracting Davy. David's departure would bring Lille a significant amount of transfer revenue and could potentially be used to strengthen other positions in the squad. At the same time, Davy's arrival would also inject new energy and offensive firepower into AC Milan. Contacts between AC Milan and Davy's agent are currently underway, with all parties hoping to reach an agreement before the summer transfer window.
