Nottingham Forest
Expected to buy it for £10million
home field
The freehold of the land. Previously, Nottingham Forest had considered leaving their current home, the Forest Stadium, to build a new 50,000-seat stadium. However, with the team almost certain of relegation success, they have now been advised to abandon this plan and instead prioritize remaining at their 125-year-old home.
The freehold of Forest Ground has an independent valuation of between £8 million and £10 million and the land is currently owned by Nottingham City Council. Nottingham City Council have indicated that they are willing to negotiate a sale of the land. Nottingham Forest had previously made an offer of £4 million but had not progressed in the current negotiations. City Council leader Mellen said the offer made by Nottingham Forest a few years ago did not match the valuation of the land.
Nottingham Forest currently pay £1 million a year in rent for their home ground.
