The soccer team secured the runner-up position in Ligue 1 this season and as a result qualified for next season's Champions League. In the recently concluded Ligue 1 match, Monaco beat Montpellier 2-0 to secure the runners-up spot. This also means that Monaco will return to the Champions League next season, the last time they played in the Champions League was in the 2018/19 season when they failed to progress after a poor performance in the group stage.
