Losing 0-1 against Arsenal, a game in which Casemiro dragged back and missed a man leading to a goal.

Wayne Rooney (1941-), British playwright

and Roy Keane both used the word "lazy" to describe him.

Rooney said, "It's just lazy, he's lazy, the rest of his teammates are pressing up and he should be following them. Whether you're a midfielder or a defender, you have to be prepared to press up with the rest of your teammates. Otherwise, you're letting the opposition keep attacking and you'll end up getting punished."

Speaking on Sky Sports, Roy Keane added: "Casemiro is not suited to playing as a center-back in the Premier League. Whatever your faults, you can't change a player's pace. Casemiro is also a bit lazy when it comes to getting on the ball, which leads to us conceding goals. We're not saying that Casemiro has to cover 60 or 70 yards, just get on the ball within 10 to 15 yards. You have to move forward and move your feet. Casemiro gets exposed as a center back and today's game was an example of that."

Neville also criticized Casemiro's performance in the Arsenal goal: "Casemiro has to press forward. Look at him slowing down and once he doesn't press forward, he's in trouble. Trossard did what every good wing player does, he made a diagonal run inwards which ultimately led to his team conceding the goal. Casemiro should have moved forward quicker. He has a lot of game experience on the field and he should have seen that the ball was out of control and he had to press forward faster."

Although Casemiro made his comeback in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry on April 21, he has yet to be named in the Brazilian national team's Copa America roster, dimming his national team prospects.

Neville added: "There's no doubt it's a tough time for him. Earlier in the studio they said he needed to be given more protection, but in reality he already had it. It was a fundamental mistake. You have to move forward quicker and he stalled and there's no excuse for that."
