The Pacers quickly got into the swing of things at the start of the game, utilizing a small 9-0 surge to take the lead. At the end of the first quarter, the Pacers had opened the gap to more than twenty points, while the Knicks' offense performed poorly, getting only 14 points. In the second quarter, the Pacers continued to maintain the initiative on the court, taking 30+ points in two consecutive single quarters, and at the end of the half, the Pacers had a 28-point lead.
After the second half of the game, the Knicks were still unable to turn the situation around, and the Pacers had already scored 101 points by the end of the third quarter, and the difference had widened to 38 points. The final quarter was completely reduced to garbage time, and eventually, the Pacers outscored the Knicks to tie the score at 2-2.
