The sale of Chelsea's owner, Abramovic, has been delayed for nearly two months after sanctions were imposed by the British government. Recently, it has been rumored that Abramovic has been making things difficult for the buyer in the sale, including asking the buyer to pay back a £1.5 billion private loan. However, Abramovic issued a statement on Thursday (5) saying the rumors were false and that the purchase by US tycoon Todd Boehly was in the final stages and expected to be completed soon.

In the 19 years since Abramovic became the owner of Chelsea, he has injected 1.5 billion pounds into the club in the form of private loans, and when he announced the sale of the club, he also indicated that he would delete this huge loan, until recently it was rumored that Abramovic had gone back on his word and was pursuing the buyer for the money, and Chelsea issued a statement to clarify that: firstly, Abramovic's intention to give the proceeds of the sale of the club to charities hadn't changed and he hadn't been involved in the process of the sale of the club; secondly, Abramovic hadn't asked the buyer to repay the loan. Secondly, Abramovic did not ask the buyer to repay the loan, and the news and the report that Abramovic had temporarily raised the selling price were both untrue.
