At the congress, a number of key decisions were adopted, particularly those concerning the future of women's soccer and the international competition schedule.
Women's International Schedule 2026-2029:
The calendar is the result of consultations after extensive research and analysis, coordinated with federations and other stakeholders. In addition, with regard to the right to organize the 2027 Women's World Cup, the voting process resulted in the finalization of a joint bid for the association by the Belgian Football Federation, the Dutch Football Federation, the German Football Federation and the Brazilian Football Federation.
First FIFA
Women's Club World Cup
To be held in January-February 2026, the tournament will be held every four years and will have a size of 16 teams, with more details to be announced in due course.
Amendments to the Player Status and Transfer Regulations:
To further protect the well-being of female players and coaches, FIFA will amend the regulation from June 1, 2024 onwards.
Women's soccer club matches added:
In order to promote women's soccer clubs globally, it is recommended that an additional women's soccer club tournament be organized in non-Women's Club World Cup years starting in 2027.

2025 Futsal Women's World Cup:
The first tournament will be held in the Philippines.
U-17 Morocco Women's World Cup 2025-2029:
The distribution of places includes Asia, Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Oceania and Europe.
U-17 Qatar World Cup 2025-2029:
The distribution of places equally covers Asia, Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Oceania and Europe.
Arab Cup:
Qatar will host the tournament in 2025, 2029 and 2033, which will follow the invitational principle and will not be included in the international competition schedule.
These decisions mark important adjustments and advances in FIFA's approach to the development of women's soccer and the international competition calendar.
