On May 13th, Atalanta hosted the visiting Roma in the 36th round of the Italian top flight. After a fierce battle, Atalanta finally won 2-1 against Roma by virtue of De Cetare's second goal and Pellegrini's penalty kick, and gained three valuable points.
The first half started with both sides getting into the game quickly. In the 18th minute, Lukaku accidentally kicked the ball towards his own goal while defending, but luckily Atlanta goalkeeper Svilar cleared the ball in time to avoid a goal kick. Later, Atlanta gradually took the initiative on the field. In the 20th minute, Scaramacca sent a precise direct ball to De Cetare, who cut inside and fired a shot into the goal to open the scoring for Atlanta. Koupmenas then assisted, and De Cetelaere again capitalized on the opportunity, scoring twice to make the score 2-0. Before the end of the first half, De Cetelaere also hit the post with a shot from a narrow angle, and Koupmenas's free kick also hit the post unfortunately.
In the second half, Roma stepped up their offense in an attempt to turn things around. In the 66th minute, Abraham created a penalty kick opportunity in the penalty area, and Pellegrini hit the penalty kick to equalize a goal for Roma. However, that didn't change the situation on the pitch. Pellegrini's ensuing header was parried by the Atalanta keeper, while Lukaku's powerful shot was also blocked. In stoppage time, Koupmenas had a great chance on goal, but his shot went high, missing the chance to seal the win for Atalanta.
In the end, Atlanta beat Roma 2-1 thanks to a great performance by De Cetare.
