The FA have announced their 25-man squad for France at Euro 2024 and Chelsea striker Nkunku has failed to make the cut.
At the last World Cup, Nkunku was in the France squad but had to withdraw from the team due to a knee injury sustained in training. The situation has been reported in the news.
Nkunku's impressive performances for Leipzig last summer caught the attention of Chelsea and he subsequently moved to the Premier League side. However, his time at Chelsea has been plagued by a series of injuries and has only played 13 games for the Blues this season.
Nkunku failed to find a place on the roster for this year's Euros despite having recorded appearances for France's national teams at all age groups and having played 10 games for France. Those 10 matches included UEFA Nations League, UEFA Europa League qualifiers and friendlies, but did not include major tournaments such as the World Cup or Europa League.
Nkunku's fall from grace means he will have to wait for his next big opportunity again, which is certainly a setback for the 26-year-old.
